Pensacola Lawyers Host Annual Fiesta Days Celebration by Fiesta Pensacola
It’s only fitting that every year, one of Pensacola’s oldest law firms sponsors the opening event of one of the city’s oldest traditions. That law firm is Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon and the event is Pensacola’s annual Fiesta Days. It’s the oldest and largest heritage festival in the State of Florida. The kickoff event for Fiesta is called “The Fiesta Days Celebration.”
Pensacola’s Fiesta Days Celebration
The name of the festival came about because Pensacola has been governed at one time or another by five different countries since its founding back in 1559 by Don Tristan de Luna of Spain. Over the course of time, the city has seen Spanish, French, British, Confederate, and American flags flying.
This year’s Fiesta Days Celebration event will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Pensacola’s historic Seville Quarter. The celebration will include various forms of entertainment, elaborate decorations, and delicious food served in the different themed rooms of Seville Quarter.
Among the local dignitaries attending are the city’s Mayor, Fire Chief, and Supervisor of Elections. The Escambia County Sheriff and Pensacola Naval Air Station’s Commanding Officer also attend. It’s a tradition for these people to “surrender the city” to the acting Don Tristan de Luna and his Queen for the 10-day period that the celebration runs.

Those at Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon actually get a jump on the Grand Fiesta Parade festivities as they also host an afternoon lot party. This event takes place outside the firm’s main office on Spring Street in Pensacola.
